"#IPeerSupportBecause I know how tough and isolating it can feel alone in your consulting room, often a long way from family. I've ridden the roller coaster of study, family, death of loved ones, neglecting myself and putting work first."

Sue Hookey is a GP and rural medical educator, and has newly signed up as a peer support facilitator with Hand-n-Hand.

She is a passionate advocate for self-care, self-awareness, and for those living with coeliac disease and other autoimmune diseases.

"I love mentoring others to navigate their stormy waters to find calm waters sooner."

Outside of the clinic, you can often catch Sue on bushwalks, leading her scout group, or jamming with her musical playgroup (when not locked down of course!)

If you're a healthcare worker in Australia or New Zealand, you can register your interest as a peer supporter like Sue at: https://www.handnhand.org.au/givesupport
