Hand-n-Hand founder honoured as 2022 QLD Young Australian of the Year

Meet your 2022 Qld Young Australian of the Year - Hand-n-Hand Peer Support founder Dr. Tahnee Bridson! What a big surprise, and what an even bigger honour! Congratulations to all the award recipients and nominees who were also in attendance at last night's ceremony.

A snippet from Tahnee's acceptance speech:

"It's really an unknown problem that suicide and mental health issues are much higher in doctors and other healthcare professionals... having experienced difficulties myself and finding it really difficult to get help, I just wanted to make it easier, and I wanted those statistics to change, and it's something I still want to fight for."

It goes without saying that none of this would be possible our volunteers and peer support facilitators, whose dedication and commitment to improving mental health for all healthcare workers is what makes Hand-n-Hand's mission possible.

This one's to you 🌟🥂😁

Finally, our thanks to the team at Australian of the Year Awards and category partner, the Dept of Education, Skills & Employment for their work behind the scenes.

We look forward to working with you to improve the mental wellbeing of our workforce into 2022 and beyond.
